Infrastructure Operations Engineer

Modern IT Partners is interviewing candidates for Infrastructure Operations Engineer position for contract-based individuals for long-term contracts. Through this role, the applicant will be responsible for leading, managing, and maintaining enterprise-level IT infrastructure operations and modernization across different departments. The applicant is also required to provide high-level solutions for business applications, systems, cloud integration, portfolio alignment, infrastructure, and enterprise.  Review current architecture, recommend methods for streamlining the enterprise for efficiency, modernization, security, new innovative technology integration and industry best practice.

Skills

As Infrastructure Operations Engineer, subject matter export, your skills, knowledge, and experience should encompass the following:

  • Lead Operations, Maitainance, and Modernization of the customer infrastructure such as their servers, networks, virtualization, storage, and backup systems.
  • Oversee application and server administration, patching, and lifecycle support      across on-prem and cloud platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with Treasury Directives and Federal IT Security mandates.
  • Collaborate with the customer’s Cybersecurity personnel to harden infrastructure, enable remote operations, and secure endpoints.
  • Improve operation efficiency through automation, configuration management, and monitoring tools (e.g., SCCM, Ansible, SolarWinds).
  • Direct endpoint lifecycle management: provisioning, imaging, deployment, and      patching of workstations and mobile devices.
  • Standardize and optimize client-side configurations across customer environments.
  • Implement and oversee automated software distribution, remote support tools, and hardware inventory systems.
  • Partner with User Support and Cybersecurity teams for secure and resilient      endpoint delivery.
  • Experienced in topics such as complex networks, cloud technologies, cross-platform integration and large-scale, complex systems design and implementation.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Regular communication and collaboration between IP and business teams are essential to clarify and confirm requirements, ensuring that the completed solutions adhere to defined requirements. ​
  • Familiarity with cloud capabilities (Azure, M365, AWS): Need to leverage new cloud capabilities.
  • Clearly communicate technical details to business and management staff 
  • Experience with one or more data technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Data Warehouse, SQL Server, C# etc.) and a willingness to learn how to leverage these      technologies to improve business intelligence. 
  • Author and oversee design documents for approved projects.
  • Provide meaningful feedback and coaching of other team members. 
  • Provide insight and recommendations on new and emerging technologies and concepts to the customer’s team members.
  • Eager to contribute to a team-oriented environment. 
  • Able to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.

Role Responsibilities:

          As an IT Subject Matter Expert, you will be responsible for overseeing and assisting with Strategic Integration and SME Services Across All Technical Operation services such as remote and in office network capabilities, application, and server administration, enterprise computing center management, and core smartphone and workstation management. 

Position Qualifications 

  • Master’s with at least 6 years specialized experience or B.A or B.S with at least 10+ years specialized experience in IT infrastructure operations, system administration, or enterprise endpoint management.
  • Deep expertise with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, SCCM, VMware, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
  • Experience leading large scale infrastructure or endpoint modernization projects in secure federal environments.
  • Knowledge of FISMA, NIST, IRS IT policies, and federal IT compliance standards.
  • Proven expertise in technical operations with the ability to act as a senior advisor (SME) to federal stakeholders.
  • Certifications: MCSE, Azure Administrator, ITIL, Security+ or equivalent.
  • Experienced in topics such as complex networks, cloud technologies, cross-platform integration and large-scale, complex systems design and implementation.
  • Experienced in cloud technologies and infrastructure, networking, security, and virtualization.
  • Ability to engage on multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to provide guidance and direction to team members.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and objectives and be able to align IT systems with those objectives.

Compensation:

         $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year depending on experience and qualifications.
